I would guess that the CD-RW was inadvertently packaged w/o the bundled software. I recently bought an APS CD-R (with a Panasonic 7502 unit inside the APS case) and If it was, tell the vendor's customer service folks that the machine had no bundled software. I had two problems: (1) ALL of my CD drives would disappear when installing the HP CD-Writer bundled software (which includes an older DirectCD from Adaptec/ROXIO as I made this mistake once, but I got out of it by rebooting into SAFE mode, uninstalling CD-Creator 5.0, then repeating the process correctly.

Norton is notorious for not uninstalling completely and leaving pieces of itself all over the place. There is a Symantec page that tells how to get rid of at least some of those pieces, but I don't seem to be able to find the URL at the moment. I'm sure someone else will post it soon. Found it!

I have had an Audigyx for a couple of weeks now and simply cant get the bundled software to work with it....
